The green spaces near the Karlshorst S-Bahn station don't offer any seating, but hedges are used for illegal dumping. Therefore, the hedges between the two exits on the north side are mostly trash. There are recycling containers on Wandlitzstraße, not far from the station, where there's a small park. Albrecht from Kehrenbürger Lichtenberg might also participate with materials. On Saturday, July 15, 2023, we'll be joining Cleanup Barnim for a walking trash collection day to join them in the historic setting of Bernau City Park. Cleanup Barnim has helped us several times before, and now it's our turn to help them. It's that time again. The 13th Schöneweide Spring Cleanup in Wuhlheide is starting! This year, we're helping with the organization for the first time, and we're thrilled to be involved! You can collect independently between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. At the material collection point, you'll receive information about the collection area, collection materials (if needed), pocket ashtrays, and a voucher for warm soup, kindly provided by the Waldkater (at the FEZ). Please bring your own work gloves and, if you have them, your own trash grabbers. Everyone else will be provided with these materials. After collecting trash, please return the grabbers to the stand. You can leave the filled trash bags along the main paths; we'll then collect them using cargo bikes or handcarts. The material collection point is on the Tanzplatz (access to Wuhlheide across from Firlstraße). Please wear a mask at the stand. We ask that you register. This will help us with planning. On Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the local NABU (Treptow-Köpenick) chapter will be hosting a trash collection and information event as part of the "Coastal Cleanup" campaign. We will be represented and will be providing our equipment for interested trash collectors. There will be two information booths (Spree Tunnel/Müggelpark and Rübezahl), where, among other things, the collection equipment will be distributed. All participants will receive a small surprise.
