For more than 60 years, the German Clothing Foundation, a non-profit organization, has been collecting, sorting, and distributing used and new clothing. With these donations and the proceeds from their sale, they support clothing banks and social projects both in Germany and abroad.

The “Ordnungsamt-Online” tool (also available as an app) provided by the state of Berlin allows all citizens to report disturbances in public spaces, such as defective traffic lights, pavement, illegal dumping of waste, and much more. These are forwarded to the responsible authorities and are usually resolved within one week.

Collection system for cigarette butts

Membership (e.g. as a private household, clean-up group, event organizer, etc.) provides collection containers that are picked up and emptied free of charge once a year.

Regional & seasonal products
Marktschwärmer creates regional networks of producers and consumers. Its goals are direct access to regional food for everyone and fair pay for the people who produce it. Marktschwärmer is part of the social movement for sustainable agriculture and fairer economic practices.
In Treptow-Köpenick, there are local groups in Adlershof, Friedrichshagen, Johannisthal, Köpenick, Mahlsdorf-Süd (under development), and Schöneweide.

Free paddles for collecting trash on the water
GreenKayak is a non-governmental environmental organization that involves volunteers in the fight against pollution through kayaking. Anyone can paddle for free if they collect trash from the water and share their experience on social media using #GreenKayak.
In Treptow-Köpenick there are stations in Schöneweide (Funkhaus) and Köpenick (Mellowpark).

Nature-oriented engagement
The Treptow-Köpenick local group of the German Nature Conservation Association (NABU) is actively involved in projects including an amphibian protection fence in Rahnsdorf, various wildflower meadows, and nesting boxes. Anyone who would like to help is always welcome.

Placement of volunteers
Since 2008, Sternenfischer has been promoting volunteer work in southeast Berlin. Among other things, it acts as an interface between volunteers and relevant organizations in a wide variety of fields. Anyone who wants to get involved and do good will find exactly what they're looking for here.

IBZ Königsheide
Donations in kind for a good cause
The Königsheide Information and Meeting Centre is located on the grounds of the former largest children's home in the GDR and provides information about its history.
In addition, you can drop off various donations there, including well-preserved clothing, shoes, household linens, cuddly toys, toys, records, CDs, board games, books, baby bottles & pacifiers, new/used toothbrushes, new/used cat & dog supplies, usable moving boxes, and much more.
